Extreme Poverty Eradication Day 2009 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre

| SDI took part in the fair and displayed innovative tehnical devices like an environmental firendly vegetable cooler and a fuel briquetting press which uses waste materials like cow dung, saw dust, waste leaves, rice chaff, hay, weed,water hyacinth etc. The devices are cheap, requires no polluting energy. The honorbale Minister of Information , govt of Bangaldesh, Abul Kalam Azad MP, The acting chief of DFID ,Mr. John McAlpine, Mr. Shuman Sengupta, Country Director Save the Children UK Bangladesh Program, Mr. Md. Enamul Haque, Registrar, Dept of Patents,Designs and Trademarks,GoB,Hon MP Rafiqul Islam Khokan (Jhenaidaha 2), Mr. Carry Gordon , USAID/Dhaka to mention among scores of important visitors to have taken keen interest in these innovations, as these may prove to be effective in significantly helping the extreme poor to increase income (more pictures in photo gallery) |

 Ingenious Fuel Briquetter using waste materials: SDI experiments with technology affordable by extreme poor SDI is now experimenting with a prototype of fuel briquette making device which is cheap and will use rice chaff, dry leaves , saw dust, etc. to produce fuel briquette. This will help extrem poor to earn a regular income by prducing fuel cakes and sellingin the market. |
